Yet Another Wedding Card
This card works for a bunch of the "Dare to Get Dirty 09" challenges on SCS. First, I used the sketch challenge. I also incorporated the color challenge... black and white with a pop of red. Finally, I used my dies to create all the squares, circles, and even the heart!
Here's my card...
RECIPE:
Stamps: Heartfelt Hits 1 from Gina K Designs
Paper: White, Black, Real Red, dp from Papertreyink
Ink: Momento Black
Accessories: Nestabilities in Classic Square, Classic Circle, and Heart, black organdy ribbon, Crystal effects (on heart), silver cord (on heart), dimensionals
The heart was punched with the smallest of the Heart Nestabilities and then coated with Crystal Effects. I then punched it and hung it as a charm from the ribbon.
Thanks so much for looking! Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Riley Flying High!
Here's my card...
The dp is a little busy in the background, but I think the bright, cheery colors make the card fun! I popped up Riley's head, the wings and propeller on the plane, and the banner on dimensionals so I could use this card for the "Dare to Get Dirty 09" paper tole challenge too! It's hard to see in the picture, but I swear it has dimension!
RECIPE:
Stamps: Airplane Riley from Hanna Stamps, sentiment from Papertreyink Birthday Basics set
Paper: Ridinghood Red, Marigold Morning, Blue Bayou, White, dp from Cosmo Cricket
Ink: Momento Black
Accessories: Copic Markers, dimensionals, blue SU buttons
Thanks so much for looking!!! I have a TON of errands to run today and it is just POURING here! Blech!!! What happened to summer? I don't think it's really arrived yet in Ohio!
That's all for today! I gotta run! Have a terrific day!!! :)

Sweetie Bear
Here's my creation...
RECIPE:
Stamps: Sweet Treats (C.C. Designs)
Paper: Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, White, Apricot Appeal dp
Ink: Momento Black
Accessories: Copic Markers, Classic Square Nestabilities, white snaps, flower brad with attached ribbon, dimensionals
The colors just screamed rainbow sherbet to me, so I pulled out this cutie image from All That Scraps. I colored him with my copics... all but the ice cream, which I colored with my SU markers so they would match the colors of the paper. I bought the flower/ribbon brad at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised that it was a perfect match with the Pixie Pink. I lined up the white snaps (I don't know what else to call them because they look like a brad, but have the backing of an eyelet) with my SU piercing template and then set them with my cropodile.
That's all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a terrific day!!! :)

Christmas in July
I filled these up with cello bags filled with candy and gave them to my school secretary, principal, and co-teachers.
I used an assortment of holiday SU papers and Basic Gray Christmas paper (Wassail, I think). They tags were created with Papertreyink's 2008 Holiday Tag Collection. I cut them out with Classic Circle Nestabilities and tied them to the stockings with silver cord. The cello bags were tied close with coordinating ribbon, although I don't have a picture that shows that. I created the "stitching" with a white gel pen, although you could easily do real stitching with a sewing machine on the cardstock.
These went over really well and everyone LOVED them! And, like I said earlier, they are sooooo easy to make!!!
Merry Christmas in July! Thanks for stopping by and looking! Have a splendid day!!! :)

Lighthouse
Here's my card...
The picture's not the best as it was taken prior to getting my photo editing program. Sorry about that!
RECIPE:
Stamps: Winds of Grace, Sanded BG
Paper: Night of Navy, Brocade Blue, Rose Red, White
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: 1/4 inch Night of Navy grosgrain ribbon, Classic Square and Classic Rectangle Nestabilities, brads, dimensionals
Technique: sponging
I guess you could classify this card as masculine since it really doesn't have any frilly bows or cutesy stamps on it.
That's all for today!!! Thanks for stopping by and looking! Have a terrific day!!! :)

Guy Cards
Here's what I came up with....
This card was for the "Dare to Get Dirty" challenge. There were several requirements for it... 1. You could only use 1 piece of designer paper, 2. You had to use 2 stamps, 3. You had to use 3 colors, not counting the white/cream image panel, and 4. It had to be masculine. I also threw some of the other challenges in there too... using something clear (acetate stars) and my punches (key tag and stars). The acetate stars are REALLY hard to see, but there are two located by the sentiment. I punched them out of acetate sheets with my large and small SU star punches. There is a small star in the bottom right corner and a large star under the upper left corner of the sentiment panel (it's attached with that eyelet on the sentiment panel).
RECIPE:
Stamps: Classic Pickup (retired SU)
Paper: Kraft, Basic Black, Real Red, White, Urban Oasis dp
Ink: Black Momento
Accessories: Copic Markers, key tag punch, large and small star punches, hexagon eyelets, acetate, dimensionals
Next, I used the same stamp set to create a card for the "Limited Supplies" challenge. It's not quite as exciting as the first card, but I still like it and it is a "manly" card after all.
This card is not as loud as the other card and makes me think of Bella's pickup in Twilight. It's really quite basic and did not take me all that long to create (which is quite rare because I usually spend at least 1-2 hours on a single card).
RECIPE:
Stamps: Classic Pickups, It's Your Birthday (all retired SU)
Paper: Kraft, Always Artichoke, Basic Black, White, Urban Oasis dp
Ink: Black Momento
Accessories: Prismacolor colored pencils, gamsol, hexagon eyelets, dimensionals
That's all for today. I'm heading up to Put-In-Bay on our boat for the weekend (it's Christmas in July up there and it's a great weekend for craziness with our friends!), so I'm going to try to create some scheduled postings for you. Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific day!!! :)

Square Cards
I never make square cards! But yet I found myself making them today for two sketch challenges and I like how they turned out! I participated in this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge and combined it with today's "Ways to Use it" challenge on SCS. The SCS challenge was to use a charm on your card. I knew I had a couple of charms stashed away somewhere because I used to make jewerly. So after some digging, I did find a few heart charms to use. I also incorporated the Caardvark's theme and made it a bridal card.
Here's the Mojo Monday sketch...
And here's the card I created...
RECIPE:
Stamps: Heartfelt Hits 1 (Gina K), sentiment from Simple Little Things (PTI)
Paper: River Rock, Chocolate Chip, White, retired SU dp (Brocade Backgrounds, I think)
Ink: Momento Black, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: heart charm, Classic Circle Nestabilities, Chocolate Chip satin ribbon, word window punch, modern label punch, scalloped corner punch, Spica clear glitter pen (on dress), markers, dimensionals
I am totally addicted to my new scalloped corner punch, if you can't tell! I think I've used it on every card I've made since I bought it!
The other card I created if for the "Dare to Get Dirty" event that is taking place on SCS over the next few days. I used the colors from this week's Color Throwdown and the sketch from the Dare to Get Dirty challenge.
Here's my card...
I used my SU pastels to color the butterfly and sealed it with hairspray. The ribbon was retired a few years ago from SU but I still have a large stash of it from a ribbon share.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Stipple Butterfly
Paper: Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, White, retired SU dp (Enchante)
Ink: Momento Black
Accessories: SU pastels, hairspray, Classic Circle Nestabilities, lavender organdy ribbon, brads, scalloped corner punch, swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder, dimensionals
That's all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by and looking! Have a terrific day!!! :)

RECIPE:
Stamps: Baby Firsts (retired SU)
Paper: White, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Delightful Dots dp
Ink: Momento black
Accessories: scalloped corner punch, scallop square punch, classic square nestabilities, 5/8 inch so saffron grosgrain ribbon, blue buttons, white twine, dimensionals and glue dots
That's all for today! Thanks for stopping by and looking! Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Rust, Navy, and Pink????
Well, after much thought, this is what I came up with...
It's not my favorite card, but given what colors I had to work with, it's not half bad.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Serene Spring (retired SU hostess set), Aida Cloth BG
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Really Rust, Pretty in Pink, watercolor
Ink: Really Rust, Stazon Black, various SU reinkers
Accessories: Scalloped corner punch, scalloped border punch, Labels Nestabilities, Petite Oval Nestabilities, Not Quite Navy brads, 1/4 inch Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals
I stamped the focal point image in Stazon black on watercolor paper and watercolored it with reinkers and an aquapainter. I did cheat a tiny bit on the watercoloring and added some fine details with the fine tip my SU markers in the coordinating colors to make the watercoloring "pop" some more.
I don't think I'd use this color combination again, but you never know!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my stuff today. Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Fabric Flowers, Cupcakes, and a CASE!
Today's technique challenge was to create fabric flowers with freezer paper and a die cut machine. Well, let me tell you that freezer paper is rather hard to find. I did find it at my grocery store, however they only had one kind and it was plastic coated instead of wax coated. Wax coated was what the technique reccommended because it was supposed to adhere to the fabric when you ironed it to give it more stability in the die cut machine. I gave the plastic coated freezer paper a try anyways since that was all I could find, but it did not work. So I ended up adding a few cardstock shims to my cuttlebug and finally got it to work without any paper at all.
Here's my technique challenge card...
RECIPE:
Stamps: Everyday Button Basics from Papertreyink
Paper: Kraft, Night of Navy, Bravo Burgandy, White, Night of Navy prints dp
Ink: Handsome Hunter, Bravo Burgandy
Accessories: Buttons, twine, Nestabilities and Cuttlebug flower dies, brad, corner rounder punch, 1/4 inch Bravo Burgandy grosgrain ribbon, fabric
I also participated in the Cupcake Challenge on the Taylored Expressions blog. Details about the challenge can be found HERE.
Here's my card...
It's quite a bit of pink and I'm not sure about the patterned paper I paired together. It's a little busier than I envisioned. Overall, it's not my favorite card, but I still like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Cupcake by Hero Arts
Paper: Cameo Coral, Pretty in Pink, White, Raspberry Tart dp, Pretty in Pink prints dp
Ink: Momento Black
Accessories: Copic Markers, Nestabilities, Circle punches, sewing machine, 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon in Pretty in Pink
And finally, I started the Featured stamper challenge yesterday but I didn't get to finish it. I got around to finishing it this morning. I cased this card HERE.
And here's my version...
I changed the colors, used label nesties for the main image, used a ribbon slide for the sentiment, scalloped the corners, and added brads.
RECIPE:
Stamps: One of a Kind
Paper: Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, White, Razzleberry Lemonade dp
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Black Momento
Accessories: Copic Markers, Razzleberry ribbon, Cuttlebug ribbon slide, black brads, scalloped corner punch, corner rounder punch, dimensionals
That's all for today! Thanks so much for looking!!! Have a wonderful day!!!:)

Ink: Momento Black, Chocolate Chip (on broom)
Accessories: Copic Markers, Labels Nestabilities, Small and Large Oval Punches, Scallop corner punch, 1/4 inch Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, Martha Stewart drippy goo punch
Next, I combined Amy Rysavy's sketch challenge with the Inspiration challenge on SCS. I found my inspiration HERE.
Here's my card...
Isn't she cute?!?? I just love the Lily and Billy stamps from Pink Cat Studio. They are just so much fun to color.
RECIPE:

Ink: Momento Black
Accessories: Copic Markers, Classic Circle Nestabilities, scallop corner punch, sewing machine, Bermuda Bay ribbon, Bazzill flower, rhinestone stickers, stickles, spica glitter pen
The pleating on this card took me forever! I really wanted to recreate the layers in the shirt from my inspiration piece, but it was tough! They are actually sewed together with my sewing machine.

Where's my mojo?
Here's my card for today's "Ways to Use It" challenge on SCS. You had to double up on something. It could be the main image, embellishments, anything. I chose to double the focal point image, but like I said I'm just not feeling my card today.
What do you think?
RECIPE:
Stamps: Cheers to You
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, White, Razzleberry Lemonade dp
Ink: black, SU Markers
Accessories: Circle punches in 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 inches, Scalloped circle punch, sewing machine
On the up side, I did pull out my sewing machine and use it on this card. I don't always pull it out and play, but I'm proud of myself for stitching in a straight line!!!
I also did yesterday's sketch challenge on SCS, but didn't have time to blog about it. My mojo was definitely there yesterday and I LOVE how this card turned out. But then again, it is a Halloween card and I love to create those.
Here's my spooky card...
Don't you just love this?!?!?!?! I know it's kind of a gory image, but I just love how it pops off the page. I think it would make a really cool tatoo, if you were into permenantly putting gothic stuff on your body.
RECIPE:
Stamps: From the Crypt
Paper: Old Olive, Basic Black, White, Cast a Spell dp
Ink: Black
Accessories: Black embossing powder, Labels Nestabilities, Ticket corner punch, bat punch from Martha Stewart, 5/8 inch black grosgrain ribbon, silver bat brads
That's all for today. Thanks so much for looking! Have a terrific day!!! :)

A Cardinal Christmas- More Christmas in July
As you can probably see, I left the layout the same but changed the stamp set. I stayed with the bird theme, but my image was colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. I changed up the colors on the card some too... adding the green. I used a chipboard star covered with dp and sanded the edges and then added a button on top of it.
Here's my card...
RECIPE:
Stamps: A Cardinal Christmas, Canvas BG
Paper: Kraft, Riding hood red, Very vanilla, Merry Moments dp
Ink: Close to Cocoa, River Rock, Black
Accessories: prismacolor pencils & gamsol, chipboard star, button, linen thread, scallop border punch, ridinghood red tafetta ribbon

And Many Mower
I'm in the stamping mood lately and decided to participate in my first evah' Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Deets can be found HERE.
I haven't been very good at inking up my newer sets lately, so I'm really trying to get more use out of them. Plus, I can always use birthday cards and masculine birthday cards are even harder to come up with... so I know I'll use this card fairly quickly.
Here's what I created....
I hope the colors aren't too "Christmasy", but I wanted the red to compliment the mower and the green to signify the grass. Make sense?
RECIPE:
Stamps: And Many Mower
Paper: White, Old Olive, Real Red, Summer Picnic dp, Real Red Patterns dp
Ink: Black Momento
Accessories: Copic Markers, Labels Nestibilities, Circle Punches, 1/4 inch Real Red grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals
This was a tough sketch for me, but I think it turned out okay. What do you think?
Thanks for looking! Have a terrific day!!! :)
Greetings, Earthling!
Here's my card...
I was just itching to use one of my new SU stamp sets that arrived on Wednesday and this challenge gave me the perfect chance!

Paper: White, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Good Morning Sunshine dp
Ink: Pacific Point, Momento black
Accessories: Copic Markers, Classic and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities, Tags dies from Spellbinders, green brad (SU), Pacific Point striped grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals
Isn't he a cutie? There are other adorable aliens in this set, but I personally think he's the cutest!
Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Christmas in July
Here's what I created...
I bought this stamp set from SU when it was first released a few years ago, but I've NEVER USED IT!!! Sadly, I have a lot of stamps in my collection that I've never used! Shame on me! But this was the perfect opportunity to ink him up and use him! I also used my brand new designer paper from SU that the nice UPS man dropped off yesterday. Most of my new order was stamp sets and accessories to create (of all things) Halloween cards! I LOVE to make Halloween cards and it's a rarity that I can pass up a fun spooky stamp. You'll have to wait to see that stuff though! But, I did squeek in some Christmas paper on my order too.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Jolliest Time of Year
Paper: Kraft, Real Red, Old Olive, White, Merry Moments SU dp
Ink: Black Momento
Accessories: 1/4 inch and 5/8 inch Real Red grosgrain ribbon, red buttons from SU's playground button pack, classic circle nestabilities, Copic Markers, dimensionals
That's all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a terrific day!!! :)

Lots of Cards Today!!!
First, I created this card for today's sketch challenge on SCS. I'm really not ready for fall yet, but I started looking at my newest stamps and which ones haven't seen ink yet. That's how I settled on using "Autumn Days". Plus, I wanted to get used to SU's newest in-colors.
Here's my card...
RECIPE:
Stamps: Autumn Days, Everyday Flexible Phrases, Canvas BG, Weathered BG
Paper: Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla
Ink: Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Linen thread, Cuttlebug Tiny Tags, Hodgepodge Hardware, Deckled Rectangles Nestabilities, dimensionals
Techinque: sponging and masking
I did a lot of sponging on this card. Every panel was sponged to give it depth.
Next, I needed a thank you card to send to my parents. They bought my hubby and I a set of plastic margarita glasses to use on our deck and boat as an anniversary gift. Here's the card I created using the same sketch...
RECIPE:
Stamps: Cheers to You
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, White, Razzleberry Lemonade DP
Ink: Momento Black
Accessories: markers (SU and Copic), Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon, Prima flowers, rhinestone stickers, stickles
I put glittery stickles on the rim of the glasses to make it look like sugared or salted rims. They cherry is also a gemstone sticker.
Finally, today is my 3rd anniversary. I always struggle with making cards for my husband, so I was surfing SCS and came across THIS CARD. I knew I had to recreate it, especially since my hubby is not that romantic and most of his cards end up going this route anyways!
Here's my card...
RECIPE:
Stamps: All in the Family, sentiment from Verve stamps
Paper: Old Olive, Perfect Plum, Chocolate Chip, White
Ink: Momento Black
Accessories: markers, word window punch, modern label punch, cuttlebug embossing folder, dimensionals
Tee hee!!!! Isn't it funny!?!? I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it!
That's all for today! I'm heading out to dinner to celebrate or anniversary soon. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Color Challenge
Here's what I came up with...
Isn't she cute? I really do own other coloring tools... I promise I do, but I always seem to reach for my Copics lately. I'm hooked!
RECIPE:
Stamps: Lily at the Beach (Pink Cat Studio)
Paper: Apricot Appeal, Baja Breeze, Tempting Turquiose, Creamy Caramel, White
Ink: Momento Black
Accessories: Copic Markers, Nestabilities Deckled Rectangles, Pretties Kit and Bazzil flower, clear spica glitter pen, Cuttlebug embossing folders (mesh and d'vine swirl), dimensionals and mini glue dots
I dyed the flowers to match the cardstock colors with my Copic markers. I also felt that this "beachy" scene should have a lot of texture, so I used two cuttlebug folders as well as the deckled nesties.
That's all for today! Tomorrow's my 3 year anniversary with my hubby and I still have to make the card! Yikes!!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a terrific day!!! :)

Sleepy Riley
Today's technique challenge was to create a "stand up card". The directions for this technique/fold can be found HERE. Basically it's an A2 card that stands up on its own... it's only one sided... like a postcard with "wings".
Here's my card...
I took the picture outside, so it's a little shaded. I tried to brighten it up with my photo editing program, but this was the best I could get it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Sleepy Riley from Hanna Stamps
Paper: Dark Chocolate, Spring Rain, White, Chocolate Remix DP (all PTI)
Ink: Black Momento
Accessories: Copic Markers, Corner Rounder Punch, Dark Chocolate polka dotted satin ribbon, Bazzil flower, brown button, dimensionals
Thanks so much for looking today! Have a terrific day!!! :)

Coffee Riley
I participated in today's featured stamper challenge on SCS. I cased THIS CARD. I changed the stamp (but I still used a Riley stamp), the colors, I used a pretties kit flower instead of a sentiment panel, and I added a ribbon slide instead of tying a bow in the ribbon.
Here's my version...
RECIPE:
Stamps: Coffee Riley from Hanna Stamps
Paper: (all PTI) Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides, White, Green Tea DP
Ink: Momento Black
Accessories: Copic Markers, Pretties Kit flower and 1/2 pearl, SU ribbon slide, Dark Chocolate Satin Ribbon (PTI), Nestabilities Labels, dimensionals
I dyed the pretties flower with a copic marker to match the Ocean Tides color in designer paper and cardstock.
That's all for today! Thanks for stopping by and looking! I really do appreciate the kind comments you all leave! They make my day! Have a terrific day!!! :)
