SNOW DAY!!!!

Yes! All my praying and backwards pajama-wearing worked! I had today off today! We got about 14 inches of snow! That's a TON of snow! We actually have even more than that on the ground because the snow from past snow storms hasn't melted! My hubby said that you can't see the bushes in front of our house. We've had a record-breaking amount of snowfall for the Cleveland area for January. We've broken the record set from the blizzard of 1978! I, of course, didn't venture outside today. I can see all the snow just fine from the window! Living in Ohio, I definitely know what it looks like already and I don't need an upclose look!

I played along in today's sketch challenge on SCS. I wanted to make some elegant birthday cards for the people I work with. February is a VERY popular birthday month where I work, so I'll need quite a stockpile!

Here's my card....

RECIPE:
Stamps: Garden of Life (PTI)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz (PTI)
Paper: Raspberry Fizz, Black, White, and Black & White dp (all from PTI)
Accessories: Classic Rectangle Nestabilities, Corner rounder punch, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder, Rhinestone Stickers

What do you think? I was trying for classic-elegant feminine style. I think it's kind-of retro too... because of the pattern of the dp.

That's all for today. I'm sure I'll be back to work tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get in some more time in my stamp room.

Thanks for stopping by and looking! Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Hoppy Little Frogs

Today's color challenge on SCS was to use Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, and Garden Green together. I must admit that I am not totally thrilled with this year's SU In-Colors... so I pretty much have full packs of the Pacific Point and the Baja Breeze. It was a challenge for me to use these colors together! Here's what I came up with...

Cute, huh? I think it's kind of masculine. What do you think?

RECIPE:
Stamps: Pond Life, Pond Life Sentiments, Birthday Basics (all from PTI)
Ink: Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Garden Green
Paper: Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Garden Green, white
Accessories: Spots & Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder, 1 1/4 inch & 1 3/8 inch circle punches, word window punch, Baja Breeze Button, linen thread, dimentionals

Tonight we're getting a HUGE snowstorm!!!! I'm hopeful that tomorrow will be a S-N-O-W-D-A-Y for me. (Notice that I spelled it out and didn't "say" it.... so I don't jinx it!) Yes, I'll be wearing my pajamas backwards and flushing ice cubes down the toilet all in the hope that my phone will ring sometime between 6:00 and 7:00 am tomorrow morning! I know... I know.... I'm just as bad as the kids!

Thanks for stopping by today and peeking at my blog. Have a wonderful day!!! :)

I'm back!

Sorry I haven't posted in soooo long! I was really sick for a couple of weeks, then I turned 30, then I had report cards to do, and the list goes on and on.... I'm sure you can relate.

So in all realness, I haven't done any stamping in a few weeks. I participated in today's technique challenge on SCS. You had to make a card using pleates of some kind. I'm not sure how much I like today's card, but at least I participated in the challenge and got myself stamping again.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes (SU)
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, White, Urban Garden designer paper
Ink: Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Classic Square Nestabilities, Word Window punch, Sewing machine

Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Today's color challenge on SCS was to use Brilliant Blue, Garden Green, and Pumpkin Pie. This definitely sounded like a tough combination! But here's what I came up with...

RECIPE:
Stamps: Game Night (new in SU's next catty)
Ink: Brilliant Blue, Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Brilliant Blue, Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie, White
Accessories: Brilliant Blue brads, Classic Square Nestabilities

Pretty cute! I really like the bright colors... very out of my element!

Thanks so much for looking today! Have a wonderful day! :)

Sparkley Birthday!

Today's technique challenge on SCS was to create a card using red line sticky tape and glitter. Let me tell you.... this was one MESSY challenge! I'll probably be glittery for weeks!

I chose to create 2 cards... both following the same basic layout... just some slight variations with color and orientation on the cards.

Here's my first card...

RECIPE:
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes
Paper: Pink Passion, Orchid Opulence, White
Ink: Black, SU Markers
Accessories: Red Line sticky tape, pink and purple fine glitter, labels nestabilities, Spica glitter pen, dimensionals

Here's my second card...

I didn't change too much. The card is upright instead of horizontal. I also used pink and black glitter and changed the orchid opulence out for the black. It gives it a "hip" feel I think!

I used the Spica glitter pens on the sprinkles on the cupcake and the flame on the candle.

That's all for today! Thanks so much for looking! Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Back to School Bummin'

So sad! My vacation is over and I'll be heading back to work tomorrow. I'll be counting down the days until Spring Break... sad, but true! I really enjoyed not having to get up in the morning and probably procratinated WAY TOO MUCH on work that I brought home. Who am I kidding when I pack my bag full of stuff for a break?!? Seriously! I think I only opened up my bag once over the last 2 weeks, so I'll be doing some MAJOR catch up this week.

Today's featured stamper was JulieHRR. I chose to case THIS card from her gallery. As you can probably see, I changed the colors a little bit and used a different stamp set. I stuck with the same theme and only made the main image bigger on the layout. I also used my threading waters punch from Fiskars instead of scalloped scissors and used much larger rhinestone stickers in the centers of the flowers.

Here's my card...

RECIPE:
Stamps: Just Buzzin' By (new from SU in upcoming catty), Stem Sayings (SU)
Paper: White, So Saffron, Petals & Paisley dp (retired SU)
Ink: Black, SU Markers (So Saffron & Close to Cocoa)
Accessories: Fiskars Threading Water punch, Classic Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities, Pretties flowers, blue rhinestone stickers, 1/4 inch white grosgrain ribbon

Thanks so much for looking today! Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Jackpot, Baby!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted. The holidays really sucked up a lot of my time, and then I ended up getting really sick! What a bummer winter break this year! I was sick just about the entire 2 weeks I had off from school! Blech!

Being sick really ruined my stamping mojo. Today was the first time since Christmas Eve since I've stamped, or even set foot in my stamp room. I did manage to read all 4 books in the Twilight series while I was sick. They were definitely page turners and if you haven't read them.... I strongly reccommend them! Seriously... I read four 600+ page books in less than 2 weeks... they are THAT good!

Today I created some Christmas thank you/good luck in 2009 cards to send out to family and friends. I followed the January 2009 Sheetload of Cards layout to mass produce 8 of these cards. Plus I got to use one of the new Sneak Peek sets from SU's upcoming catty which will be released in a few weeks. Super fun!

RECIPE:
