More Cheep Talk

This card was supposed to be for the color challenge LAST week! But life sometimes gets in the way of stamping, so here it is, a week later. I've been sick with yet another sinus infection, so I didn't feel like being in my stamp room until today. At least I got in there and finished what I started!

RECIPE:
Stamps: Cheep Talk
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, White, Urban Garden designer paper
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, black
Accessories: Baja Breeze button, linen thread, small oval punch, silver brads, Classic square Nestabilities, dimensionals

Thanks so much for looking! Have a terrific day!!! :)

Bitty Bunny Basket

Today's technique lovers challenge was to create a teeny-tiny Easter basket using the template found HERE. It was super easy, although I had a difficult time decorating it... it was sooo tiny!!!

Here it is...

As you can see, I kept it REALLY simple. I filled it with green peanut M&M's that I had picked out of a Christmas mix and intended to use for St. Patty's day. As you can see, that project never fully came together, so now they look like Easter eggs that have gone bad! :)

RECIPE:
Stamps: Tags So Much (SU Retired)
Paper: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, White, Delicate Dots dp (SU Saleabration)
Ink: Black
Accessories: Markers, Tag Punches, Scalloped Scissors, 1/4 inch So Saffron grosgrain ribbon

That's all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by!!! Have a terrific Tuesday!!! :)

Just Buzzin' By... Beate Style!!!

Today's featured stamper was Beate Johns. If you've never seen her work, you should serious visit her blog HERE. She's absolutely amazing!!! My Christmas cards this year were inspired by a design she created.

There were sooo many gorgeous cards to choose from in her gallery, and they were all so perfect that I didn't want to change anything! But I finally decided on THIS ONE.

Here's my card...

I changed the stamp set, the colors, and added stitching along the "wave". If you've ever tried to sew on a sewing machine in a "wave", you know it's really hard!!!! I had to practice quite a bit before I went for the cardstock, and even then I had to scrap a few before I got it to look okay.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Just Buzzin' By, sentiment from Cheep Talk (all SU)
Paper: Summer Sunrise, Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist, White, polka dotted dp (all from PTI)
Ink: Black Momento
Accessories: Copic Markers, Classic Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities, Aqua Mist Twill Ribbon, scalloped scissors, sewing machine, black marker, dimensionals

That's all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by and looking! Have a wonderful day!!! :)

OSU Graduation

My computer is fixed now. I have the cord to charge it, finally!

This weekend my husband's cousin, Daniel, is graduating from Ohio State University. So we needed a graduation card for the occasion. I needed to create something simple and quick because I have a ton to do right now.... like report cards, blech!

I cased this layout a few years ago from someone on SCS and it has been my old standby for graduation cards... I just change the colors to match the school the graduate is graduating from. Super easy!

RECIPE:
Stamps: Year After Year (SU), sentiment from Everyday Classics (PTI Anniversary Set)
Paper: Real Red, Basic Gray, White
Ink: Basic Gray
Accessories: Classic Square Nestabilities, dimensionals

Pretty simple, yet classy for a graduation! I didn't add any embellishments since this is going to guy... no foofy ribbons or buttons!

Thanks for looking! Have a terrific day!!! :)

Nature Silhouettes & Computer Issues

Blech! Computer issues again! On Thursday, I came home from work, hopped on my computer to check email, and then ran upstairs to change my clothes before heading off to my monthly "girls night out massage". When I came back downstairs, my AC Adapter was making a scary sparking sound! I yanked the cord out of the wall and out of my computer, but the AC Adapter was smoking and smelling like something electrical was burning. My computer is okay, but I need a new AC Adapter, and Best Buy, of course, won't replace it even though it was basically brand new. So now, I'm posting from my husband's computer, as my laptop has no way to recharge the battery at the moment. We overnighted a new AC Adapter, but it won't be here until Tuesday. So, you may not hear from me for a couple of days.

I participated in today's Featured Stamper challenge. I chose to case THIS CARD. As you can see, I turned the layout on its side, changed the ribbon, added a button, and changed the stamp. The colors are also slightly different, but not much.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Nature Silhouettes (SU); sentiment from Birthday Basics (PTI)
Ink: Blue Bayou, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Blue Bayou, Chocolate Chip, White, Blue Bayou Prints dp
Accessories: Classic Square Nestabilities, Chocolate Chip felt ribbon, Chocolate Chip cordoroy button, Word Window punch, sewing machine, dimensionals

Well, that's all for today! Thanks so much for looking! Wish me luck with my computer! I'm hopeful that the correct part will arrive in the mail on Tuesday.

Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Cheep Talk

I loved the layout for Wednesday's sketch challenge on SCS. I'll definitely use it again! Plus, all my new SU stuff arrived today! I held off on my new catty order until March 1, so this was ALL new stuff to me! I couldn't wait to break into that box and get playing!

Here's my card...

RECIPE:
Stamps: Cheep Talk
Ink: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Summer Sun, Baja Breeze
Paper: Pacific Point, Summer Sun, White, Good Morning Sunshine DP
Accessories: Bloom Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Classic Square Nestabilities, dimensionals

I thought this card was "summery"... and I am ready for summer!!!

Thanks so much for looking! Have a fantastic day!!! :)

Out on a Limb

When I saw Tuesday's Color Challenge, I first thought... BLECH!!!

I always pull out the colors for the Tuesday color challenge before I leave for work and lay them out together on my desk in my studio. Then I can stew over them all day and get an idea in my head for when I come home. Well, when I came home today, I was still stumped. I ended up pulling out my binder of stamp images and going through that until a set "called to me" to use it with those colors.

Here's what I came up with...

RECIPE:
Stamps: Out on a Limb (Papertreyink)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Always Artichoke
Paper: Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Swiss Dot Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Black Buttons, Liquid Pearls (on flower centers), dimensionals & mini glue dots

I put liquid pearls on the center of the flowers. It's hard to see in the picture, but I think it gave them a little more dimension. The main image panel is popped up on dimensionals.

Thanks so much for looking! Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Hunny Bunny

Waiting for me in my mailbox today when I got home from work was the March release of the C.C. Designs stamps! Woo Hoo! I actually exercised some self control and only ordered the Hunny Bunny set to use on any Easter projects.

Today's technique lovers challenge was to create these adorable treat box/totes. Too cute and extremely easy! The directions are on this BLOG.

Here's my creation...

Totally adorable, isn't it!?!?

Here's another view...

And here's a shot of it open...

RECIPE:
Stamps: Hunny Bunny (C.C. Designs)
Ink: Regal Rose, Momento Black
Paper: Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, White, Just Delightful dp (retired)
Accessories: Circle Punches, Scalloped Circle Punch, 1/4 inch Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon, Classic and Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities, Copic Markers, dimensionals

Unfortunately, I only had green and red peanut M&M's left over from Christmas to put inside, so I decided to wait until I had some Easter candy before I fill it up. I guess I'll have to head over to Target to buy some candy! Any excuse I can get... right?!

Thanks so much for looking! Have a terrific day!!! :)

Season of Friendship

I spent most of Sunday in my art studio... something I haven't done in a l-o-n-g time! I guess the creative juices were flowing freely and I was feeling inspired.

I created a 2nd card for the featured stampers challenge on SCS. I cased this card HERE. I changed the size of the card and made it an A2 rather than a large square. I find that I just don't send cards larger than the regular A2, mainly because they involve a trip to the post office rather than just a walk down my driveway to my mailbox. Square cards cost more to send than regular A2 cards. I also changed the colors and made it a spring card instead of winter. I couldn't decide what to change about the sentiment panel, so I came up with two different variations of the same card.

Here are my cards...

RECIPE:
Stamps: Season of Friendship
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose, Bashful Blue
Paper: Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Regal Rose, White, Just Delightful dp (retired)
Accessories: 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon in Regal Rose, silver ribbon slide, Certainly Celery brads, crystal gem stickers, tiny tags (cuttlebug), dimensionals

Well, there are the two variations of the same card. I kind of like the one with the ribbon and the ribbon slide better, but they both turned out pretty well.

Thanks so much for looking! Have a terrific day!!! :)

Pinch Proof

The temperature here is finally into the upper 50's! Unfortunately, it's done nothing but rain... of course! At least it's not snowing, right?!?

I participated in today's featured stamper challenge on SCS. I chose to case THIS CARD from the featured stamper's gallery. I changed the colors, image, and omitted the bottom two buttons so I could add the ribbon and ribbon slide. I like how it turned out! Plus, I was in need of making some St. Patty's Day things!

RECIPE:
Stamps: Pinch Proof (SU)
Ink: Garden Green
Paper: Certainly Celery, Garden Green, Basic Black, White, Certainly Celery Prints dp (retired)
Accessories: Certainly Celery 5/8 inch grosgrain ribbon, Pewter Hodgepodge ribbon slide, Scalloped border punch, Classic and Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities, Certainly Celery Buttons, dimensionals

Thanks so much for looking! Have a terrific day!!! :)

Boatloads of Love

No new stamping today. The "Ways to Use It" challenge on SCS was to make an ATC (Artist Trading Card). ATC's really aren't my thing, so I sat today's challenge out.

I made this card a while ago, but never posted it on my blog. I think it has great "springy" colors.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Boatloads of Love
Paper: Watercolor, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Rose Red, SU dp (sorry, I forget the name of the dp, but it's retired SU)
Ink: Stazon Black, reinkers
Accessories: 1/4 inch white grosgrain ribbon, white jumbo eyelets (non-SU), dimensionals, threading waters fiskars border punch,
Technique: Watercoloring with reinkers

I colored the boat by watercoloring with my reinkers and an aqua painter.

Thanks so much for looking! Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Springtime Lily

I'm so ready for spring! Tomorrow it's supposed to reach close to 50 degrees here and I can't wait! That's unseasonably warm for Northeastern Ohio in March! Typically we can squeak out a few more snow days from school in March, but maybe not this winter. I'll trade a few snow days for nice, warm, SUNNY weather!

Since my mind is on spring today with the coming weather, I had to make a springy card for today's sketch challenge. I also had this fun set waiting for me in my mailbox when I got home this afternoon. Perfect for spring!!!

RECIPE:
Stamps: Enchanted Lily from Pink Cat Studio
Ink: Momento Black
Paper: Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, White, Bali Breeze dp (retired from SU)
Accessories: Copic Markers, Clear Spica Glitter Pen (on wings and hair bows), word window punch, Classic Rectangle Nestabilities, dimensionals

I think she's just the cutest! I didn't think any of the Pink Cat Studio sets could top the "Lily and Billy Winter" set, but the "Enchanted Lily" set is just the cutest!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Cutie Pie Angel

I'm such a wuss... I almost didn't stamp tonight because I burned my arm on the stove! Owie! Stupid baked potato! Stupid me! I had on my handy-dandy "ov glove" and reached in for a baked potato and then proceeded to touch the top of my arm (the unprotected part) to the oven rack above the stupid baked potato! I think I will probably have ill feelings towards potatoes from now on. After icing it for a while, I decided that the blister was inevitable and headed up to stamp. I'm just hoping it doesn't leave a scar... if anyone knows any miracle cures for having burns heal without a scar, I'm all ears!!!

Today's color combo on SCS was kiwi kiss, chocolate chip, and pink passion. Surprisingly I liked these colors together! Here's my card..

RECIPE:
Stamps: Hey Cupid! from C.C. Designs
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Pink Passion, White, Bella Rose dp
Ink: Black Momento
Accessories: Copic Markers, Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Scallop Border Punch, Classic Rectangle Nestabilities, dimensionals

How cute is that little angel?!? I had to use her because she's never seen ink! Shameful, really!

Thanks for looking today! I appreciate all your views and comments! It truly makes me smile everyday to think that people who are not my family or know me face to face come and visit my blog. My stamping friends are the best!!! :)

Valentine's Mailboxes

Better late than never! Right? I made some of these decorated Valentine's mailboxes for my school secretaries and the other teachers that I work closely with at school. They were in the Dollar Spot at Target right after Christmas. I had seen them done on SCS for the last few years, but never tried them myself. They were soooo easy! I followed the tutorial on Emily Giovanni's blog HERE.

Here's my creations....

I created these using various SU designer papers.... some retired.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Love you Much (SU)
Paper: Candy Cane, Loves Me (retired)
Accessories: Scalloped Circle Punch, SU Markers, 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon, Pretties kit flowers & Bazzile flowers, rhinestone brads, glue dots

Thanks so much for looking! Have a terrific day! :)

March Already?!?!?!

Can you believe that it's March already!?!? I totally planned to take a few days off from blogging and stamping and before I knew it, the whole month of February was past! Time certainly does fly!

I do have a card to share today. I haven't participated in any challenges on SCS since January, so doing today's challenge felt good. Today's challenge was a featured stamper challenge and I chose to case this card HERE. As you can see, I changed the colors, stamps, background paper, and used a Spellbinder's snowflake instead of the circular sentiment panel.

Here's my card....
RECIPE:
Stamps: Winter Bear from C.C. Designs
Paper: White, Sage Shadow, Wintergreen dp (SU retired)
Ink: Black Momento
Accessories: Copic Markers, Classic Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities, Spellbinders Snowflakes die, green rhinestone brad, white satin ribbon

For as tired of winter as I am, I can't believe that I'm still creating winter cards! But this little bear was just too cute with his snowman friend and I hadn't inked him up yet!

Thanks so much for looking! That's all for today! Have a wonderful day!!! :)
